In the vein of At the Gates, Opeth and Evergrey, with aggression, melodies and atmosphere
in focus Terrortory gives a whole new meaning to the term “new breed of Swedish
metal”. Formed in the year of 2000, Terrortory is truly metal for the 21st century.
Terrortory was founded in Skellefteå, a city in the north of Sweden, by vocalist Johan
Norström, guitarist Stefan Widmark and former guitarist Michael Bergvall – all three
with backgrounds in local underground metalbands with strong fan bases. During the years
that followed a number of bass players and drummers came and went until Peter Hägglund (drums) and Olov Häggmark (bass) proved their strengths and were embraced as full-time
members of the band. However, when things can’t get any better they tend to get worse and
in 2006 founding member Michael Bergvall left the band to pursue an academic career. It was
a setback, but a new guitarist was found in Marcus Olofsson who had left his hometown Uppsala and his band Searing I to study in Skellefteå.
Troughout the years the band has played a number of shows and are regarded as a solid and
energic liveact. Among others they’ve opened for Entombed and Vintersorg.
