081123 - Last part of the video diary!
So, now we're done with this video-shit. We'll probably post a teaser when the mix is coming together, but this is it for now.
As for now, we've all gone back to our daily routines and eagerly await the magic of Heinrich upon the 8 tracks we've recorded.
The recorded songs, by the way, are entitled:
DeReign - a fast paced, thrashy tune with serious hit potential.
Demon Slay Angel - groovy and heavy, we thought recording it would be a walk in the park but everyone had problems with this one. Even the software.
The Seed Left Behind - a.k.a. The Behemoth. 8 minutes long. Thrashy, heavy. Earlier presented in the vocal part of the video diary.
I, You - another groovy heavy song with a sweet atmospheric part. The first take (well, almost) song, for everyone.
The Destroyer - the latest addition to the catalog, thrashy and heavy.
Saviour - straight forward, simple song with quite the bombastic chorus.
Secret Song 1 - previously recorded and released on the first demo: "s/t". Atmospheric and heavy tune.
Secret Song 2 - previously recorded and released on the second demo: "One Dead Morning". Fell victim to the e-bow during this recording.

081117 - A few pictures!
In the end of this three-week period we started recording more and more movies and taking less pictures, but here's some at least.

081116 - The end of this recording is upon us!
Hell yeah! It's been three short and intense weeks, with lots of laughter and demonic stuff. Stefan recorded some acoustic guitars hours ago and with that, we were done. There are still some electronic and orchestral parts left, though. But in theory we're done. Heinrich will start mixing now, and we'll keep you up to date with the progress!
Oh, and hopefully we'll get the remaining videos done this week.

081114 - Near completion!
Johan finished his vocals today! Later on we started recording the guitar solos, and only hours ago the first song was completely finished! It's entitled "The Destroyer" and it kicks ass! We're completely satisfied so far!
Stefan and Michael is currently coming up with some fun games like runkpingis, kurrarunka med runk, röda runka rosen, runkas, fia med runk, bokbål and under hökens vingar runk. But we're going back down to the studio now, so unfortunately there won't be anymore games.

081111 - Malfunction.
The guitar video was edited yesterday. However, only hours later Johans' computer broke down. He is angry and frustrated. Luckily, that influences his vocals.

081110 - We're moving on!
The guitar video diary might take a few more days, since our über-video-editor is preoccupied with his vocal duties. Yes, Johan has entered the recording booth, finding out excactly how bloody warm it gets in there. Sad for him, he's the only unemployed person in the band so noone will be at his side, supporting him. So if you're in Skellefteå this week, come by the studio and make sure he actually does something productive. We have a sneaking suspicion he might not.

081109 - Rhythm guitars almost done!
This weekend was productive, to say the least! Stefan and Michael locked themselves up in the studio and recorded the guitars for all 8 tracks! And man, it's starting to sound pretty damn heavy! Stefan has some finetuning left to do, that will be taken care of tomorrow. All according to plan! So, our schedule holds up and tomorrow evening we will start with the vocals (after Stefans last-minute touchups)! On friday we'll commence the last step of the recording - the lead guitars. We can't wait.

081107 - The bass is done + video diary!
Yesterday Olov actually recorded all the tracks to the album! This morning when he and Johan returned to the studio to listen to it they only find some minor mishaps that was taken care of before lunch. Johan had lasagne and Olov had chicken béarnaise.
At this time we're fighting Heinrich, our sound engineer, about the guitar sound, but we're slowly getting there. Michael has finally joined up and found himself eerily comfortable in the studio-induced madness (and low, low sense of humour).

081106 - Bass recording!
Yesterday we tried to record bass guitar. However, we failed (a topic we will return to later). Due to a lot of technical problems, and we mean a lot of technical problems, we spent a good four hours trying to record. Everything went south and Johan was, yet again, sad. As we can see on the picture below, he resorted to seeking comfort in food.

However, after rain comes sunshine. After a good nights' sleep everything miraculously started working! We stashed a bunch of amps into the recording booth and Olov played like never before. Five songs in about as many hours! So at this stage, Johan is happy again!
And now for a new segment in this diary - the diary of fail.

081102 - The drums are done!
Yes! They are in! Well almost... Heinrich is currently trying to figure out just how the hell Peter plays a fill on one of the secret songs. Just press Ctrl+T, Olov says, hoping it will solve the problem once and for all. Anyway. We'll start recording the bass on wednesday, and the guitars afterwards. Stay tuned for more fun..!

081102 - Almost done now!
Peter peaked today, and outperformed himself. The monster, "The Seed Left Behind" is near completion, as well as yet another re-recording that'll also remain a secret.

Olov was pleased with the results. Maybe he's the reason to Peters hot streak?
In the true spirit of this weekend, Johan and Olov joined forces and went on an important hunt. Stefan documented the event.

081101 - At the end of day three.
In the end the day turned out quite productive! Although the monster was somewhat of a pain in the ass that bummed us out, we recorded an additional song. A re-recording of an old classic that'll remain a secret for now...
And, when Heinrich performed some boring sound engineer stuff we had some fun with Stefans camera. This is the result...

081101 - A bit slower, but still on schedule.
Today was a slow day. Some changes in the previous plans had to be made, so the monster is not yet unleashed. However, Peter recorded "The Destroyer" and "Saviour" and started teasing the monster. Olov made a brief appearance in the afternoon but was soon of to work. He's been on vacation in Liverpool so it was nice to have see back in the camp. An anxious Michael called Johan asking about the progress, and got nothing but diffuse statements regarding the beer of the people.

081101 - November is upon us.
Things weren't quite as bad as we may have made them seem yesterday. As soon as Heinrich, our sound engineer, arrived back at the studio he took control of the situation and things once again went our way. We're starting to think that Johan was the bad one, making the computer the sad one.
Drums for three songs recorded yesterday! The songs are "I, You", "Demon Slay Angel" and "DeReign". Today we're aiming to get two songs done, one being somewhat of a monster length-wise. Hopefully, we'll nail three songs today as well, though. We've received word that Olov might be joining us in the studio today, and that'll be nice. Micke won't be seen in a long, long time since he bought himself Fallout 3 and pretty much decided to put his life on hold. But we all know what a new video game can do to a man so that's okay.
We also talked to a guy to help us out with some orchestral pieces and he played us some of his previous work, which sounded great. So we're thinking of becoming a carbon copy of Dimmu Borgir at this time. We'll have a vote later today. Or maybe we should have a poll?

All hope is lost.

081031 - First song in the bag.
We keep on rolling. We've recorded the drums for the first song, entitled "I, You". We've also had some lunch, Peter had meatballs and Johan had Pasta Alfredo. Stefan has just arrived in the studio. Now it seems, however, as if the lunchbreak made Peter quite drowsy, but soon he'll be as good as new again.

081031 - The end of day one.
The day passed without any major hitches. Of course, you all know it, soundchecking drums equals trouble and boredom, and yes - we had them. But nothing major. At the end of the day, the drums sound great. At this early stage they sound even better than our previous recordings. In our ears, that is.
Today, the actual recording commences... Stay tuned.

081030 - We've entered the studio!
Yeah, you read it! Finally we've entered the studio again! The plans have been in the making for about a year and a half now, but this time it's for real. Today we're rigging Peters' drumkit and the plan is to start recording tomorrow morning.
So what's up with the site, you might ask. Well, we're currently working on some new artwork and profiles for the website, the cover and hopefully also a video. Until then this blog-ish substitute and our MySpace will have to do!
For those of you who haven't noticed, Michael Bergvall is back in the band! So the current lineup is:
Johan Norström - vocals
Stefan Widmark - guitars
Michael Bergvall - guitars
Olov Häggmark - bass
Peter Hägglund - drums
And that's all for now, we'll try to post updates from the studio here as often as possible!
